Overview
The mighty Quins called upon Stadia by GL events to upgrade the temporary South Stand we’d provided previously, to improve spectator experience.
This two phased project involved removal of existing temporary infrastructure, enabling the construction of a permanent stadium grandstand.
New approach
We began by deconstructing the temporary stand, removing roof support columns from the front. The new stand required a completely different design, with a major latticework truss to support the roof.
Investment
The club additionally invested in enclosed ends, resulting in enhanced protection from the elements. In the main spectator area, which now seats 4,645 visitors, our hybrid system allows specially profiled aluminium risers and decks to affix to structural steel raker beams, enabling cost-efficient removal or replacement of seats.
Additional features
We constructed several concessions beneath the stand, including bars with cellars, additional toilets, changing rooms and a study area. The new facilities are futureproofed for Harlequins Rugby Club spectators and players alike for the foreseeable future.

”We were doing very well on the field, but we needed to be more commercially successful off it, starting with a stadium to be proud of.
