Overview
The ambitious redevelopment plans for The Pilgrims’ Mayflower Stand were prompted by the deteriorating roof of the stadium, which was in need of urgent replacement. The club also wanted to increase the capacity and add facilities to generate much needed income.
Increased capacity
The old Mayflower stand was demolished in 2018 and work on the new stand was completed in November 2019. The team at Stadia by GL events installed a stunning two-tier, 5,400-seater stand, complete with a steel frame roof in the club’s emerald green colours, increasing the ground’s overall capacity to 17,904.
Upgraded facilities
Standout deliverables included improved changing rooms and toilets, club shop and concessions, conferencing and banqueting, a PA and CCTV system, amongst other upgrades.
Supporter acclaim
Alongside the work on the Mayflower Stand, Stadia by GL events also created a new clubhouse for members of the Green Taverners – the supporters of Plymouth Argyle Football Club. This project left both the club and its passionate supporters delighted and serves as a shining example of the capabilities of the Stadia by GL events team.
